Capital Market Equity Transactions in China Breached 10 Trillion Yuan in 2018
The value of equity transactions on Chinese capital markets breached the 10 trillion yuan threshold for the first time in 2018.
In 2018 equity trading capital market transactions posted 56.9% YoY growth to reach 12.39 trillion yuan, according to figures released at the recent China Equity Transaction Capital Market Innovation and Development Forum (中国产权交易资本市场创新发展论坛).
Xia Zhongren (夏忠仁), secretary of Chinese State-owned Property Exchanges Association (CSPEA) (中国企业国有产权交易机构协会), said at the forum that during the period from 2012 to 2018 China’s cumulative equity transaction volume was 38.32 trillion yuan, including 15,100 transactions of state-owned assets worth 1.8 trillion yuan.
Since the promulgation of the “Enterprise State-owned Asset Transaction Supervisory and Regulatory Measures” (企业国有资产交易监督管理办法) in July 2016, equity trading capital markets had helped central and local state-owned enterprises (SOE’s) to raise 458 billion yuan via 1140 capital increase projects.
