Xunlei subsidiary OneTech Cloud (网心科技) is exporting its blockchain expertise to Thailand to help a leading university apply the technology to the healthcare sector.
OneThing has announced that it is working with Thailand’s Naresuan University to place the medical records of 490 healthcare institutions under Naresuan’s management on the blockchain using Xunlei’s ThunderChain platform.
Patients will be able to use the blockchain system to authorise hospitals and doctors to view their medical histories, while all inspections can be recorded on the blockchain in order to resolve the problem of privacy breaches.
The blockchain system will also be connected to the health information systems of all hospitals operated by Naresuan University, resolving the problem of “data islands” emerging for each institution.
