The central Chinese mega-city of Chongqing plans to launch its own blockchain research institute prior to the year’s end.
The Chongqing Science and Technology Department, the Chongqing Liangjiang New District Administrative Committee and the US Encryption Lab (美国加密实验室团队) have executed a cooperative framework agreement to launch the Chongqing Encryption Blockchain Technology Research Institute (重庆密码区块链技术研究院) in 2019.
According to a report from Science and Technology Daily the founders of the institute hope to attract leading scientists and domestic and overseas research teams to work on areas including encryption, blockchain technology, internet security, artificial intelligence and cloud security.
