One of China’s leading think tanks expects 5G technology to drive huge growth in the country’s digital economy over the upcoming half decade.
The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) (中国信息通信研究院) forecasts that during the period from 2020 – 2025 5G technology will drive 15.2 trillion yuan in growth for China’s digital economy.
The Chinese government is making a concerted effort to drive growth of 5G-related sectors, with province and municipal-level authorities issuing a total of 35 5G-related policy documents as of July this year.
