The number of China’s internet users has increased by nearly 26 million since the start of 2019.
The 44th China Internet Growth Status Statistical Report (第44次中国互联网络发展状况统计报告) released in Beijing on 30 August indicates that as of the end of June China was host to 854 million internet users, for an increase of 25.98 million compared to the end of 2018.
China’s internet penetration rate was 61.2% as of the end of the first half, for a rise of 1.6 percentage points compared to 2018.
Mobile internet users were 847 million in total, for a rise of 29.84 million compared to the end of 2018, and an internet mobile user rate of 99.1%.
