China Development Bank Allocates 2 Billion Yuan in Emergency Loans to Wuhan for Combating Coronavirus

One of China’s three policy banks has made an emergency allocation of funds to support efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Wuhan.

The China Development Bank approved the allocation of 2 billion yuan (approx. USD$288 million) in emergency loans to Wuhan municipality on 24 January, for the purpose of supporting work to control and prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The funds will be used for medical treatment, emergency equipment procurements and work funds, as well as other purposes in relation to combating the disease.
