Testing of vaccines for COVID-19 has already kicked off in earnest in the city of Wuhan where the coronavirus first broke out.

Zhu Aobing (朱傲冰), a retired soldier who is currently a student at Hubei Industrial University, was injected with the vaccine at the Wuhan Centre for Disease Prevention and Control on 19 March according to a report from The Paper.

Zhu first heard of the vaccine tests on 16 March via advertisements placed on WeChat calling for clinical testing volunteers.

During a 14 day quarantine and observation period Zhu and other volunteers are required to stay at a local airforce hospital in single person rooms.
