Liu Shiyu, head of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, says that strong capital markets are essential to achieving the Xi Administration’s much-vaunted “Chinese dream.”
At a political youth summit held in Shanghai over the weekend, Liu said that “establishing a strong capital markets nation is a key mission for achieving the Chinese dream of the grand renaissance of the Chinese people.
“Since the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, President Xi has issued a series of key instructions and incisive discussions in relation to reforms for a capital market with Chinese characteristics, and this is a key component of Xi Jinping’s Socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era.
“The vast body of young party cadres and personnel within the Chinese securities regulatory system have active thoughts, a broad perspective, wide knowledge…and are the backbone for driving the establishment of a strong capital markets nation, and the treasure and hope of the undertakings of the party and the nation.”
