The 2018 Fintech Development Forum and Fintech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Grand Competition (2018金融科技发展论坛暨金融科技创新创业大赛) will be held in the Beijing technology hub of Zhongguancun in mid-October.
The launch ceremony for the Forum was held at the Zhongguancun Inno Way on 1 September, with both the Forum and Competition themselves scheduled for 12 – 13 October.
The event is being jointly held by Zhongguancun Inno Way, the Internet Society of China (ISC), the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and the Fintech Innovation League (金融科技创新联盟), in collaboration with Microsoft China, KPMG and Accenture.
Ren Yang (何阳), chair of the CAICT Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute Fintech Research Centre, said that the application of technology in the realm of finance still had a long way to go, with financial inclusion, smart finance and small and micro-finance serving as key focal areas for fintech in China.
