Central State-owned Enterprises Undertake More Than 3100 Belt and Road Projects

China’s central state-owned enterprises have risen to the fore when it comes to Belt and Road construction projects.

The State-owned Assets Supervisory and Administrative Commission (SASAC) told the People’s Daily that central SOE’s are involved in a total of 3116 Belt and Road projects, accounting for 50% of all infrastructure projects in relation to the initiative that have commenced construction or are planned, and more than 70% of the contractual amount.

As of the end of 2017 China’s central SOE’s had 10,791 overseas entities distributed amongst 185 countries and regions.

Their overseas assets were worth over 7 trillion yuan, while their full year operating revenue was 4.7 trillion yuan, and their total profits 106.4 billion yuan.
