The list unveiled by MIIT on 4 June contains a total of 101 projects, with Internet of Things (IoT) related trials featuring prominently.
“Looking at the unique features of the 101 internet security projects, they basically cover several key areas,” said MIIT in an official statement.
“Internet security prevention, internet security monitoring and alerts, internet security emergency handling, and internet security monitoring and assessment.
“In attention to this this, project areas that have drawn especial attention are new areas for the application of security technology, including: protected cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, the blockchain, next generation internet (5G and IPv6), the Internet of Things and connected cars.”
According to MIIT nine of the 101 projects involve IoT or connected cars, accounting for nearly a tenth of the total.
