China Issues First 5G Commercial Licenses to Four Companies


China has just issued its first batch of 5G commercial licenses to a slew of the country’s leading telecommunications companies.

On 6 June China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued 5G commercial licenses to a total of four companies – China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Guangdian.

MIIT issued the licenses in the morning prior to 9 o’clock a.m. local time, prior to opening of China’s bourses for trading.
