Chinese Central Bank Recruits Blockchain Experts for Statutory Digital Currency Development

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) is looking for six new staff members with expertise in cryptography and blockchain technology to join the ranks of its digital currency research team.

The Chinese central bank has just publicly released its “PBOC Branch and Directly Subordinate Institute 2020 Staff Recruitment and Hiring Public Announcement” (中国人民银行分支机构和直属单位2020年度人员录用招考(招聘)公告) via its official website.

According to the announcement PBOC is currently seeking to recruit six individuals to the PBOC Digital Currency Research Institute, with expertise in the areas of computing, cryptography, microelectronics and econometrics.

According to the recruitment announcement preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in blockchain technology development and applications, big data platform development, cryptography, security systems, and mobile internet research and development.

The announcement further indicates that recruits will be working on the research and development of software systems for a statutory digital currency; end-terminal technology for statutory digital currency transactions, as well as other work in relation to fintech, digital currencies and payments and clearing systems.
