Ant Financial Tops KPMG’s Fintech100 for Fourth Consecutive Year

Ant Financial has taken out the top spot on the 2019 Fintech100 list of leading global fintech innovators prepared by H2 Ventures and KPMG.

Aside from Ant Financial other Chinese companies featuring in the top ten of the Fintech100 for 2019 included JD Digits (3rd) and Baidu spinoff Du Xiaoman Financial (6th).

The Fintech100 assessed the Top 50 established fintech firms on the list based on four core criteria, including:

  1. Average annual capital raised
  2. Rate of recent capital raising
  3. Geographic diversity
  4. Sectoral diversity.

2019 marks the fourth consecutive year that Ant Financial has grabbed top position on the Fintech100, with Chinese fintech companies consistently a strong presence amidst the list’s top ten.

In 2018 JD Finance took second place, with Du Xiaoman ranked fourth. Shanghai’s Lufax Holding also out tenth position on the Fintech100 for 2018.

ZhongAn Insurance ranked second in 2017, with Qudian coming in third, Lufax sixth and JD Finance ninth.

In 2016 Qudian was ranked second, Lufax fourth, ZhongAn fifth and JD Finance tenth, while in 2015 ZhongAn took out the top spot.
