Chinese Foreign Investment up 28% YoY in October

Official data points to a surge in Chinese outbound foreign direct investment in October.

Ministry of Commerce figures indicate that China’s outbound FDI for the first ten months of 2019 was 621.78 billion yuan, for a YoY increase of 5.9%.

Chinese investment flowed to 5365 overseas enterprises in a total of 164 countries.

In the month of October alone Chinese outbound FDI was 66.95 billion yuan, for a YoY increase of 28%.

During the period from January to October Chinese enterprises made 11.46 billion yuan in new investments in a total of 56 Belt and Road countries, accounting for 12.7% of outbound foreign investment for the period.
