The Chinese internet security sector has seen roaring growth since the launch of the 13th Five Year Plan (2016 – 2020).
China’s internet security sector has seen per annum growth of over 20% on average during the 13th Five Year Plan as compared to an international average of 8% across the same period, according to figures released at the 2019 China Internet Security Industry Summit (2019中国网络安全产业高峰论坛) held in Beijing on 9 December.
The sector is expected to exceed 60 billion yuan (USD$8.5 billion) in scale in 2019.
As of the end of November 2019 China was host to 23 listed internet security enterprises, while over 100 venture capital entities were active in the sphere.
