The latest official data points to a year-on-year rise of nearly 3% in China’s consumer price index (CPI) for full year 2019.
China’s official national CPI reading for December saw a YoY rise of 4.5%. The urban CPI rose 4.2%, the rural village CPI increased 5.3%, while the food price index rose 17.4% and the non-price food index rose 1.3%.
The consumer goods price index rose 6.4% and the services price index rose 1.2%.
For full year 2019 China’s national CPI index rose 2.9% compared to 2018.
