The public transit system of Beijing can now accept swipe payments made using China UnionPay bank cards, as part of broader efforts led by the Chinese central bank to facilitate more convenient payments.
On 19 March all public transport vehicles in Beijing launched the use of integrated card-and-code swipe devices that can accept fare payments via the swiping of China UnionPay bank cards.
