Tencent Cloud Enters Cooperative Agreement with UK’s AVEVA to Drive Industrial Digitisation in China

The cloud computing subsidiary of Chinese tech giant Tencent is teaming up with British industrial software developer AVEVA to help drive the digitisation of major industries in China.

Tencent Cloud and AVEVA recently executed a framework cooperative agreement according to a report from Securities Journal on 13 May.

The two parties plan to “create an industrial digitisation services platform based on the respective capabilities and resources of the two parties, and establish an industrial enterprise digitisation ecosystem.”

Tencent and AVEVA will also “employ feasible, reliable and sustainable digitisation upgrade solution plans to help enterprises achieve digital transition, and drive the development of the Industrial Internet of Things as a new form of infrastructure.”

Tencent Cloud is considered one of China’s leading cloud computing companies, billing itself as a provider of integrated “cloud computing, cloud data and cloud operations,” as well as key technologies including AI, big data and the blockchain.

Founded in 1967, AVEVA is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, and is one of the world’s leading industrial software developers. AVEVA is listed on the London Stock Exchange, is one of the constituents of the FTSE 100 Index.
