The Chinese government has indicated that any vaccine for the Novel Coronavirus developed within China will be shared with the world as a “public good.”

Chinese science minister Wang Zhigang (王志刚) said that a Chinese-developed Novel Coronavirus vaccine would be a “public good provided to the whole world.”

Wang made the remark on 7 June at a press conference held by the state council for the release of the “Fighting COVID-19: China in Action” white paper (抗击新冠肺炎疫情的中国行动).

Wang said that five domestically developed vaccines had already commenced clinical testing in China, including four inactivated vaccines and one adenovirus vector vaccine.
