Chinese University Graduates Had Average Monthly Income of USD$777.30 in 2019

Official data indicates that Chinese university graduates had an average monthly income of over 5400 yuan in 2019, for a rise of more than 23% in four years.

The “Employment Blue Paper: 2020 Chinese Basic Degree Employment Report” (就业蓝皮书:2020年中国本科生就业报告) and the “Employment Blue Paper: 2020 China Vocational Student Employment Report” (就业蓝皮书:2020年中国高职生就业报告) were released concurrently on 9 July.

The two reports indicate that in 2019 the average monthly salary of holders of basic degrees in China was 5440 yuan, for an inflation-adjusted increase of 23.6% compared to 2015.

The average monthly salary for graduates of China’s vocational colleges was 4295 yuan in 2019, for an increase of 15.7% compared to 2015.

According to the reports the percentage of basic degree holders pursuing post-graduate studies rose from 13.5% in 2015 to 15.2% in 2019, while the percentage of vocational degree graduates pursuing university degrees has increased from 4.7% in 2015 to 7.6% in 2019.
