The Hong Kong subsidiary of one of China’s big six state-owned banks has just launched a private cloud platform using Tencent technology.
BOC International (BOCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of China, announced on 8 September that its private cloud platform had officially commenced operation, and was providing support to a range of its operations including retail sales, asset management, investment banking and research.
The platform makes use of technology developed by Tencent Cloud Enterprise (TCE), and is reportedly the first full stack private cloud platform operated by a brokerage to commence operation in China.
BOCI said that in future it would continue to incorporate more technology developed by Tencent Cloud into its private cloud platform, including artificial intelligence and blockchain features, and would also explore the application of new technologies to the securities sector.
