Automaker Geely Establishes Fintech Investment Vehicle

Privately held automaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (浙江吉利控股集团有限公司) is seeking to expand its presence in the fintech sector with the launch of a new investment vehicle.

Zhongjian Investment Co., Ltd. (众尖投资有限公司成立) was officially established on 21 January as a wholly invested subsidiary of Geely with registered capital of 501 million yuan.

Zhongjian’s legal representative is Li Donghui (李东辉), while its business scope encompasses equity investment, investment management, asset management, technological development and technological services.

Other operations of the company are expected to include insurance, wealth management, and overseas acquisitions in the fintech sector.

“This is an investment company directed towards the fintech sector, and automobile financing is a part of it,” said Yang Xueliang (杨学良), vice-president at Geely, to Diyi Caijing.
