The Zhejiang province capital of Hangzhou has just launched a new blockchain R&D facility with support from Ant Group’s blockchain vehicle.
On 19 March Hangzhou’s Xihu district announced the establishment of the Blockchain Industry Innovation Centre (区块链产业创新中心) with the goal of providing a comprehensive “policy + platform + technology + human talent+ capital” suite of services.
Ant Group’s AntChain is reportedly one of the companies behind the new innovation centre, which will focus on tech R&D, research commercialisation and innovation application trials, as well as helping “government, enterprise and cooperative partners to establish multiple (blockchain) applications.”
Zhejiang province already applies blockchain technologies to more than 30 daily services with a view to achieving “digitisation upgrades.”
