Shenzhen-listed companies posted a surge in their net profits in 2020 despite the initial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Chinese economy.
As of 30 April a total of 1476 companies were listed in the mainboard of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), with total market capitalisation of over 23 trillion yuan, according to data released on 2 May by the SZSE.
In 2020 Shenzhen mainboard companies saw total operating revenues of 12.76 trillion yuan for a YoY rise of 8%, while net profits were 740 billion yuan, for a YoY increase of 38%.
