The cloud computing subsidiary of Internet giant Tencent has entered a partnership with China’s top authority for financial certification to drive digital transformation in the sector.

On 27 August the China Financial Certification Authority (CFCA) executed a strategic cooperative agreement with Tencent Cloud (Beijing) Co., Ltd. at a ceremony held in Beijing.

Under the agreement the two parties will “further undertake close cooperation in the areas of identity recognition, electronic signatures, anti-fraud measures, supply chain financing and the blockchain, on the foundation of excellent preliminary cooperation.”

The Agreement will also see the two parties “jointly drive the digital transformation of sectors including finance, administrative affairs and healthcare.”

The move comes after CFCA entered a similar agreement with Chinese search giant Baidu on artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
