China’s biggest bank in terms of assets is working with a leading Chinese hotelier to permit the use of digital renminbi payments in the domestic hospitality sector.
Jinjiang International announced that its WeHotel platform is teaming up with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to provide renminbi payments operations.
Jinjiang said that following the successful launch of the Jinjiang Hotel app, the provision of related payments services marked a major breakthrough in the application of the digital renminbi to the hospitality sector.
The app will permit the use of the digital renminbi for payments purposes at more than twenty of Jinjiang Hotel’s ancillary hospitality brands, including Kunlun, Radisson, Kyriad and Jinjiang Inn.
