Two of China’s top government authorities have entered a cooperative agreement to accelerate the digital transformation of the state-owned sector.

The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) announced on 27 October that it had recently executed the “Strategic Cooperative Agreement on Accelerating the Driving of the Lianghua Integration and Digital Transformation of Central State-owned Enterprises” (关于加快推进中央企业两化融合和数字化转型战略合作协议) with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Under the Agreement the two parties will “jointly drive the digital transformation of central state-owned enterprises, and expedite the in-depth integration of digital technology with the real economy.”

According to SASAC this will enable them to “play a better guidance and support role in establishing a great manufacturing power, a greater internet power, a Digital China and the development of a digital economy.”
