The official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has published an opinion piece highlighting the benefits of China’s economic opening to coincide with the China International Import Expo being held in Shanghai.
“The Expo brings new opportunities for the recovery of the world economy and gathers strength for the joint establishment of an open-model world economy,” said the opinion piece entitled “Jointly Establishing an Open World Economy” (共建开放型世界经济) published by the People’s Daily on 5 November.
“The expansion of China’s external opening will bring all parties impetus and opportunities for development.”
The opinion piece further stresses the need for green development in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Expediting post-pandemic economic green recovery has already become the global consensus…’green’ and ‘low carbon’ are the key terms for the current Import Expo.”
