China Everbright Bank’s Cloud Utilities Payments Platform Services over 500 Million Active Users

China Everbright Bank’s cloud-based utilities payments platform has seen its active users breach the half billion threshold since the start of 2021.

The Everbright Cloud Fee Payments (光大云缴费) platform has seen its active users exceed 500 million in 2021, for an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year, according to information released by the company on 12 November.

Fee payments transactions exceeded 1.7 billion, for a year-on-year (YoY) rise of 18%, while the fee payments amount has surpassed 450 billion yuan, for a YoY surge of 32%.

This included over 100 billion yuan in utilities fees payments in the month of October alone.

According to Everbright its Cloud Fee Payments platform covers over 11,900 payments items include water, power, gas, landline television, heating, social welfare, healthcare and education, while its service it connected to more than 650 major organizations, including WeChat, Meituan and China UnionPay, as well as China’s leading power and telecommunications companies.
