China’s biggest bank in terms of assets hopes to beef up the number of personnel hailing from poorer parts of the rural countryside, as part of efforts to drive the government’s rural village revitalisation campaign.

Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) held an online ceremony to launch its specialist rural village revitalisation recruitment campaign on 29 November.

ICBC hopes to provide at least 2000 employment opportunities to university students from economically disadvantaged households in China’s rural areas.

The big state-owner lender said it would “create a rural village revitalisation financial staff team,” as well as “fully service the national rural village revitalisation strategy.”
