China and Russia Sign Raft of Cooperative Agreements at Beijing Winter Olympics

China and Russia have expanded ties via the signature of a raft of cooperative agreements during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Chinese state-owned media reports that China and Russia signed at least 13 agreements on 4 February during Putin’s visit to Beijing, including:

  • The Cooperative Agreement in the Sphere of Anti-trust Enforcement and Competition Policy (中华人民共和国政府与俄罗斯联邦政府反垄断执法和竞争政策领域的合作协定).
  • The Joint Statement on the Formulation of a Sino-Russian Goods Trade and Services Trade High-quality Development Blueprint (中华人民共和国商务部和俄罗斯联邦经济发展部关于完成制定〈中俄货物贸易和服务贸易高质量发展的路线图〉的联合声明).
  • The Memorandum of Cooperation on Investment Cooperation for Driving Sustainable Green Development (中华人民共和国商务部和俄罗斯联邦经济发展部关于推动可持续(绿色)发展领域投资合作的谅解备忘录).
  • The Arrangements Concerning Mutual Recognition of Registered Businesses (中华人民共和国海关总署和俄罗斯联邦海关署关于“经认证的经营者”互认的安排).

Other agreements concerned the purchase of oil and natural gas, as well as vaccines for crops and agricultural products.
