China’s industry and technology authority expects the number of 5G base stations in the country to reach 2 million in total by the end of the year.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT0 has announced that China will see the addition of around 10,000 new 5G base stations in 2022, bringing the total number to around 2 million before the year’s end.
“This year the focal point for 5G development will be enterprise and factory areas, industrial parks, areas adjacent to high-speed rail lines, and transportation hubs,” said MIIT spokesperson Tian Yulong (田玉龙) at a state press conference held on 28 February.
