Zijin Rural Commercial Bank Taps Former Central Bank Official as Deputy Chair

Zijin Rural Commercial Bank has announced plans to appoint a former senior official from the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) as its new deputy-chairman.

On 16 March Zijin announced via the website for the Shanghai Stock Exchange that it had selected Zhu Ming (朱鸣) to serve as deputy-chair, contingent upon approval from China’s banking sector regulators.

52-year old Zhu has an extensive background as a financial regulator and in the Chinese banking sector, having previously served as a senior official in multiple roles with the Nanjing branch of PBOC.

Zhu has also served as deputy-president of HengFeng Bank’s Nanjing branch, as well as president and party secretary for HengFeng’s Jinan branch.

Prior to joining Zijin, Zhu was the president of Jinan-headquartered Laishang Bank.
