Chinese telecoms giant Huawei posted a surge in net profits in 2021, despite the challenges created for the company by overseas sanctions.
Huawei saw global sales revenues of 636.8 billion yuan in 2021, according to its annual report released on 28 March.
Net profits were 113.7 billion yuan, for year-on-year (YoY) growth of 75.9%.
Huawei’s research and development (R&D) expenditures totalled 142.7 billion yuan in 2021, accounting for 22.4% of full year revenues, while its total R&D expenditures over the past decade exceed 845 billion yuan.
