China Merchants Bank Appoints 27-year Veteran Wang Liang as New President

Commercial lender China Merchants Bank (CMB) has announced the appointment of an executive with 27 years of experience with the lender to the position of president.

CMB convened a cadre meeting on 19 May to announce the appointment of Wang Liang (王良) to the position of party secretary and bank president.

57-year old Wang Liang has been with CMB for 27 years, and holds a master’s degree in economics from Renmin University.

He first joined the Beijing branch of CMB in 1995, eventually rising to the position of branch president. Wang has also served as CMB’s director secretary and vice-president.
