A former senior exec from Chinese tech giant Baidu and its fintech subsidiary Du Xiaoman has obtained approval to serve as the secretary of the board of directors for commercial lender China Everbright Bank.
On 27 May the board of China Everbright Bank gave its approval to the appointment of Zhang Xuyang (张旭阳) to the position of board secretary effective from that date. Zhang replaces outgoing board secretary and deputy president Zhao Ling (赵陵).
Zhang is currently the chief operations supervisor for Everbright Bank, as well as the party secretary for Everbright Wealth Management.
He previously served as vice-president of Baidu, the vice-president of Du Xiaoman, and the chair of the wealth management centre for Everbright Bank.
Zhang has long been responsible for the development, design, trading and management of Everbright Bank’s wealth management products, and is considered one of the leading figures in China’s wealth management sector.
