China Sees Nearly 6.6 Trillion Yuan in Bond Issues in June

The Chinese bond market saw nearly 6.6 trillion yuan in issues in the month of June, according to figures released by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC).

PBOC data indicates that this included:

  • 504.06 billion yuan in government bonds.
  • 1.93366 trillion yuan in local government bonds.
  • 967.46 billion yuan in financial bonds.
  • 1.16969 trillion yuan in company credit bonds.
  • 44.68 billion yuan in asset-backed securities.
  • 1.90627 trillion yuan in interbank certificates of deposit.

As of the end of June the bond market custody balance was 141.7 trillion yuan, including:

  • 23.2 trillion yuan in government bonds.
  • 34.3 trillion yuan in local government bonds.
  • 32.7 trillion in financial bonds.
  • 32.2 trillion yuan in company credit bonds.
  • 2.5 trillion yuan in asset-backed securities.
  • 14.7 trillion yuan in interbank certificates of deposit.

The Chinese interbank market saw 22.5 trillion yuan in spot transactions in June, for a daily average of 1.07335 trillion yuan, and a year-on-year rise of 21.7%, as well as an on-month increase of 8.5%.
