The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) says it will step up efforts to diversify the offering of financial products and derivatives across a range of areas, including the carbon emissions market and logistics.

CSRC deputy chair Fang Xinghai (方星海) said that it was working with relevant parties to further diversify financial product supply, deepen the role played by the market, steadily expand foreign investment, continue to strengthen promotion of the futures market, and provide greater surety to economic and social development.

Fang said that the next steps would include “actively exploring new products in carbon emissions, logistics and indices; accelerating the opening up of product offerings, exploring new paths and models for overseas opening ad driving international regulatory cooperation.”

Fang made the remarks on 6 September at the 2022 China (Zhengzhou) International Futures Forum (2022中国(郑州)国际期货论坛).
