The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced plans to release a new list of areas where foreign investment is encouraged.
On 19 September NDRC spokesperson Meng Wei (孟玮) said that the authority would “make haste to drive the release of the ‘Encouraged Foreign Investment Industry Catalogue (2022 Edition)’ (鼓励外商投资产业目录（2022年版）)”.
Meng said that the new catalogue would seek to guide foreign investment towards advanced manufacturing, hi-tech sectors and modern services, as well as China’s central west and north-eastern regions.
NDRC will also support imports and exports by foreign-invested manufacturing enterprises, and strengthen encouragement and services for inbound foreign investment.
