Big state-owned lender Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) has stepped up its strategic cooperation with telecommunications giant China Unicom, outlining a focus on fintech and digital finance.
ABC and China Unicom executed a strategic cooperative agreement on 22 September, for the purpose of “continuing to deepen cooperation in traditional areas, exploring new spaces for cooperation in all areas, and driving high-quality growth during the 14th Five Year Period.”
Liu Liehong (刘烈宏), chair and party secretary of China Unicom, said that he hoped the two parties would jointly expand ecosystems that integrate finance and telecommunications, and advance the digital and Internet development of China with a focus on digital information infrastructure.
