Deposits in Tibet’s Banking Sector Post 1% Decline

The banking sector of Tibet has seen negligible growth in total assets over the past year, as well as significant decline in total assets.

As of the end of October 2022, the total assets of the Tibetan banking sector stood at 623.217 billion yuan, for year-on-year (YoY) growth of 0.33%, according to data released by the Tibetan branch of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission on 6 December.

Total loans stood at 498.323 billion yuan, for YoY growth of 4.55%, while total liabilities were 608.934 billion yuan, for a YoY increase of 0.46%.

Total deposits stood at 395.847 billion yuan, for a YoY contraction of 1.00%.
