Shenzhen Stock Exchange (深圳证券交易所)

    The Shenzhen Stock Exchange (深圳证券交易所) (SZSE) is one of two stock exchanges operating in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the other being the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE).

    The SZSE commenced operation on 1 December 1990, in the Futian district of Shenzhen municipality in Guangdong province, as a national securities exchange operating with the approval of China’s State Council.

    The SZSE is situated at 2012 Shennan Avenue, Shenzhen municipality, Guangdong province.

    History

    The Chinese government designated the southern Shenzhen as a key site for development and policy trials at the very outset of the Reform Era that launched by Deng Xiaoping in the late 1970’s.

    On 26 August 1980 the National People’s Congress (NPC) approved the “Guangdong Province Special Economic Zone Regulations” (广东省经济特区条例), marking the official establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
