The Yunqi Conference (云栖大会) is an annual tech and cloud computing conference held by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba in the Zhejiang province capital of Hangzhou.

The first conference held in 2009 went by the name of “the China Local Internet Development Forum,” (中国地方网站发展论坛) and attracted the participation of 200 websites to discuss the themes of “openness, joint sharing and joint victory.”

By 2011 the name of the conference had been changed to the “Alibaba Cloud Developers Conference” (阿里云开发者大会), while in 2013 the location of the conference was moved from downtown Hangzhou to an open-air site in Yunqi Town.

In 2015 the name of the event was officially changed to the “Yunqi Conference” (云栖大会), and Yunqi Town in Hangzhou’s Xihu district made its permanent location.

The 2017 Yunqi Conference was held from 11 – 15 October, and attracted the participation of around 450 tech companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, driverless vehicles, chip production and smart homes.
