Nearly 4 Trillion Yuan in Chinese Bonds Issued in July

The Chinese bond market saw the issuance of nearly 4 trillion yuan in bonds last month.

Data released by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) on 16 July indicates that 3.9 trillion yuan in bonds of various types were issued on the Chinese bond market in July, and that the bond market trusteeship balance was 93.1 trillion yuan.

Chinese central bank date further indicates that July saw the issuance of 358.45 billion yuan in treasury bonds, 555.94 billion yuan in local government bonds, 623.57 billion yuan in financial bonds, 763.45 billion yuan in corporate credit bonds, 124 billion yuan in asset-backed securities and 1.4 trillion yuan in interbank certificates of deposit.

China’s interbank money market saw 90.6 trillion yuan in transactions in July, for a YoY rise of 17.23%, and an on-month rise of 21.74%.
