Sources have told domestic media that one of China’s leading internet companies plans to slash the ranks of its senior executives by the end of the year.
According to Sina the inside sources said JD.com announced at its annual meeting last weekend that in 2019 it will remove 10% of senior executives at the vice-president level or above.
JD.com has roughly 180,000 staff, including up to around 100 senior executives at the vice-president level and above.
The sources said that the move is intended to resolve the various structural problems that plague the company at present.
