Demand for Finance, Internet and E-Commerce Personnel Drops in First Half of 2019


China’s demand for workers in the finance and e-commerce sectors has seen sizeable declines in the first half of the year.

Data from Zhaopin indicates that financial sector recruitment demand in China fell 39.7% YoY in the first quarter of 2019, and 37.0% YoY in the second quarter, while internet/ e-commerce recruitment demand fell 22.5% and 13.6% respectively for the same periods.

Data from Wind indicates that the average salary of workers in the financial and insurance sector was 129,800 yuan in 2018, while the figure for the computer services and software sector was 147,700 yuan.
