China’s Daily Face Mask Production Capacity Exceeds 70 Million Units

China is stepping up the production of key medical supplies during efforts to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Official data indicates that on 25 February China’s daily production capacity for face masks was 72.85 million, while 76.19 million units were actually produced, for 3.4 and 7.8-fold increases compared to 1 February and a capacity utilisation rate of 105%.

China’s daily production capacity for medical-usage face masks was 32.12 million, while daily production hit 30.28 million.

As of 24 February China’s daily production capacity for medical-usage N95 face masks exceeded one million units.
