The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) says it approved 530,000 patents in 2020, bringing the total number of domestic patents in China to 2.213 million as of the end of 2020.
CNIPA data further indicates that China’s trademark registrations totalled 5.761 million in 2020, while 1052 enterprises were approved to make use of geographic signs or symbols.
CNIPA processed over 42,000 patent disputes in 2020, and according to its figures achieved a public approval rating for intellectual property protection of 80.05 points.
Patent and trademark pledge financing projects reached 12,039 in total, for a YoY increase of 43.8%, and a total financing sum of 218 billion yuan, for a YoY rise of 43.9%.
