Chinese STAR Market shares are set to make their first ever appearance on a global stock index.
FTSE Russell announced on 19 February that it will include 11 stocks from the Shanghai STAR Market on its global benchmarks, including Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc China, Montage Technology Co Ltd., Raytron Technology Co Ltd, and Zhejiang HangKe Technology Co Ltd.
The Sci-Tech Innovation Board (上海证券交易所科创板) (SSE STAR Market) is the NASDAQ-style board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) that is dedicated to the listing of Chinese tech companies.
It officially opened in mid-2019, and saw the listing of 109 companies that raised 123 billion yuan (approx. USD$17.36 billion) in its first year of operation.
